Procedure (35-45 minutes)
T will start the lesson by showing Ss images of some spectacular celebrations asking them these questions: Have you ever attended a big celebration in your country? Have you ever heard of Children's Day? What do you know about Mother's Day & Day of the Dead? Using Google Jamboard.
T will set (2 texts from page 76),telling Ss to read the text and listen to the audio and then answer.T is using Google Jamboard for matching . Instructions: Listen to the audio and choose the correct answer: After that T will tell Ss to compare their answers in pairs then the T will conduct OCFB and give Ss text with answers. Children's Day A national holiday in Japan since 1948,Children's Day on May 5th,which used to be known as 'Boys' Day, is the day___when Japanese families wish their children happiness,good health and success.In Korea,_where the day_ has only been a holiday since 1975,there are parades,special excursions and visits to movies and museums. Day of the Dead One day __which has special meaning_in Mexico is November 2nd,which,according to legend,is the the 'Day of the Dead'.Families gather to remember relatives_who have died_ and have a special picnic by their gravesides ,with unusual foods including chocolates and sweets,__which are made into_ a variety of animal or skull shapes.
T will cover MFP of the TL using Google slides to how the difference between using relative clauses.T will clarify that some Ss are confused with using who/whose/what/which/using commas/omit who,which... Relative clauses give us information about things, people, possessions, places and times using a relative pronoun(which, that, who ,whose). A doctor is a person ----------------------treats patients. A widow is a woman --------------husband has died. A girl ---------------- has black hair is my sister. A girl -------------------- hair is black is my sister. T will conduct practice 1 in page 77 as controlled activity to focus on accuracy. T uses G-Forms .Ss will do this activity individually then check answers in pairs via private messages on the chat box.Then OCFB will be done.
