Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Before starting give students numbered cards with 1/2 to determine pairs. T: do you know who was the 1st president of Egypt? S: Nasser. T: Do you know who was after him? S: Sadat. T: finger highlight Sadat was the 2nd president. T: what about the 3rd one? do you know him? S: Mubarak. T:yes, (Finger highlight ) Mubarak was the 3rd president. T: Excellent!

Exposure (5-7 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

T: like here in Egypt, these were the American presidents who built America. Now Look at 1st task Hand in the 1st task T: Listen to the record and fill in the gaps using numbers. Are we listening to every thing or only numbers? S: Numbers Demonstration T: Let's do the 1st one together T: What did the guide say? S:1809 T: Great. Now, listen to the rest. T: Now, Check with your pairs ( 1 and 2 check together) T:Now, listen to it one more time. Display answer key.

Highlighting (5-7 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

T: In the same paper, read the text and underline the verbs in the past. This time, are we reading the whole text? Are we underling all the verbs or only the past ?
