Main Aims

By the end of the lesson, students will have been introduced to the meaning, pronunciation, form and been given opportunities for controlled and freer oral practice of a lexical set of phrases used to describe people’s jobs.
Subsidiary Aims

By the end of the lesson, students will have developed their ability to use this lexical set of phrases to write about their ideal jobs and share it with each other.
Procedure (35-46 minutes)
* Link this lesson to the previous module (positive characteristics). * Do ex "1" p 51.
* Use ex "7" from students' workbook (Cutting Edge) for the first test. Instructions:- 1- Alone choose the correct answer (to replace the definition in bold). 2- Check with your partner.
* Go through the phrases or words clarifying meaning, form, and pronunciation (select only difficult ones). 1- You have to be good with money/numbers. 2- You need good people skills. 3- You need special training and qualifications. 4- It's very secure. 5- It's very competitive.
* Use ex "9" from students' workbook "New Cutting Edge" P41. Instructions:- 1- Alone replace the definition in bold with a phrase. 2- Check your answers together (in pairs)
* Use ex "3" P51 students' book. * Take notes while they are doing this task to correct. Instructions:- 1- Alone students write about their "ideal job". 2- Students share their ideas in groups.
* Used notes from (Freer practice).
