To provide clarification and practice of language used for Giving opinions in the context of Privacy
Subsidiary Aims

To provide gist listening practice using a text about Privacy in the 21st Century in the context of Social Media
Procedure (30-40 minutes)
Start with asking the class to look at the photo (various stages of privacy)) Ask them for their opinion. Do they agree or disagree with those stages? Briefly explain what the concept of privacy means
Allow students to listen to the audio 'provide them with form so they can checkboxes as the audio plays Confirm task to engage students on the topic further OCFB (if needed)
Introducing MEANING FORM AND PRONUNCIATION of the various expressions relating to OPINIONS, AGREEING AND DISAGREEING Allow students to model sentences Ask them if they hear if the statement RISES/FALLS Proceed to show appropriacy with the FUNCTION of these expressions (formal/informal/neutral) check-in for questions
Allow students to work independently on activities involving fill in the blanks and sorting phrases into groups Send Word Wall Link for Fill in the blanks (3 mins) Send Word Wall Link for Grouping (5 mins) OCFB to check answers.
Students will be placed into two groups. Group 1 will discuss if they agree/disagree with Social Media's impact on privacy (in a work setting where they are talking to their boss) Group 2 will discuss how they feel about Passport Vaccines. Do they have an opinion different from agreeing/disagreeing Each group is responsible for listing 2 reasons for their stance on the topic (BOR) Class with reconvene in the MAIN room for discussion of each group.
