Procedure

Highlighting (4-5 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

-T asks each group to find a verb in a paragraph of the text -T elicits the tense of it -T elicits the function of it -T elicits other functions of simple present -T elicits the form of present simple (positive, negative, question) -T elicits the time words used with the simple present

Clarification (4-5 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form of the target language

-T clarifies the function, form, and times words of the simple present -T clarifies the position of adverb of frequency in a sentence

Controlled Practice (3-5 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice
