Write on the board All's well ends well. Ss discuss in small groups of three what they think it means and if it is optimistic or pessimistic in meaning. FB. Ask students if they think most people are optimists or pessimists. FB. Ss read the paragraph to check..FB. "were they right?" "were they surprised?". Then, in pairs, Ss discuss if they describe themselves as optimists or pessimists. FB
Ask Ss to be in 2 groups of Great/ Fantastic. They will read about two people who answer the question "What are you optimistic about?". Ss will be given a hint of these two people (picture, name, job). Ss discuss in their groups what are these people optimistic about . Ss read about their person and check the answers (individually) and check them with their (group). No Fb.
I'll Regroup the Ss so they are in pairs of 1* G & 1*Fantastic. Ss tell each other about the person they read about.
3 definitions of anticipated new vocabulary will be given to the two groups. Ss will pick up the correct words matching the given definitions using the text. After that, they will be given the 3 words to check their answers.
Ss will be given the question "What are you optimistic about?". They will run a discussion asking each other this question. A general FB will be taken later.
