To provide gist reading practice using a text about Living in Montreal Canada in the context of Different cities in Montreal

Introduce new vocabulary and create sentences on the topic of hometown.

Practice speakeing accurately and fluently about a town.
Procedure (47-67 minutes)
Will provide a map of a randon hometown and see if they recoginize anything that is familiar to the sts.
The sts will explain to each other in groups of 3, what they see that is not on the map I provided to them. Then, the sts will re-group, and explain the items they thought of.
Repeat some of the words the students provided or added on to their maps and writing it on the WB.
Will group out words provided in the vocabulary on the WB. I will divide into 4 sections, public transport, types of accommodation, nightlife and culture, and others. After, the vocabulary that is introduced, I will give the sts individual cut up cards and they will place it in the section they think is approriate for the word that was given to them.
Provide a reading text about, 'Living in Montreal'. After the sts read, I will ask which area they prefer to live in and Why? (Verdun, Outremont, or Old Montreal). They will do PW and talk to each other about where they choose and state the reason for why they picked this particular town.
I will re-group in pairs of 2 and ask them to share with the partners, what is the most important thing for them, if they were going to live somewhere new. What is there main basis of what they feel is important for them.
At the end of the lesson, will provide a student with a vocabulary cut up card and have them create a sentence and repeat outload to their peers. They will ensure that the vocabulary given in the lesson was understood, can create a sentence, and speak about it.
