To provide gist listening practice using a text about creativity in the context of innovation
Procedure (34-45 minutes)
1) Teacher will display a set of pictures related to the topic (Creativity) and will ask students to guess what the class is going to be about 2) Students give their ideas 3) Teacher gives students 3 questions to personalize the topic : A) What is creativity for you? B) Are you a creative person? Why/Why not? C) Is it easy to be creative? why/why not? 4) Teacher will send the students to break out rooms to encourage them to discuss the questions 5) Teacher will conduct Open class feedback and will nominate students from each group to share the ideas from the group
1) Teacher will display a video about creativity 2) Students are asked to watch the video and answer a gist question (Can you be creative in different fields? Which ones? 3) Students will discuss the question in breakout rooms
1) Teacher will display a number of words and expressions related to the topic so that students can use it in the next stage 2) Teacher will go over MEANING, FORM AND PRONUNCIATION
1) Teacher will show 6 questions and will demonstrate by answering the first one 2) Students will be sent to breakout rooms to discuss the questions 3) Teacher may shuffle students around so that they have more opportunities to talk to different people 4) Teacher will monitor the activity to identify mistakes made by learners
1) Teacher will write down the mistakes made by students in the previous lesson and will elicit the correct form of the language (MEANING, FORM AND PRONUNCIATION)
