To provide fluency speaking practice with experience sharing in the context of past education life
Procedure (30-38 minutes)
- The T greets the students and opens the first slide of the presentation. - T reads the questions and nominates Ss to answer these questions. - T does not mute all the class since the number of students will be low - Ss share their ideas about the topic. - T makes sure everyone have shared their ideas on the topic.
- T opens the next slide and present activity 3. - T asks student to have a short look on the reading text which is on the next slide. - T informs them that they have 30 seconds to have quick and short look on the text. - After 30 seconds, T opens the next slide where activity 3 is also present. - T asks students to match the fact with the teaching method. - T uses nomination to keep all students engaged.
- T returns back to the reading text and explains to the students that the next activity is on Yes/No/Not given questions. - T clarifies the difference between Yes/No and Yes/No/Not given questions in case there are students whom are not fmiliar with it. - T returns back to the text and informs the students that they will have 1.30 minutes to read each paragraph. - T asks ICQs to make sure the instructions are clear. - T starts timing 4.30 minutes in total. - After students are finished reading, T opens the activity slide and asks them to take a screen shot. -Then, T matches students in pair and sends them into breakout rooms. - After the breakout session, T nominates students to answer the activity questions. -T clarifies meaning where students are unable to find the right answer by going back to the text.
- T opens the next slide and presents discussion questions. - T nominates students to answer the question and share their personalized experience on alternative teaching methods. - T also asks them to imagine a unconventional method being used in their country and asks them if they think this would work. - T provides enough time for each student to share their ideas on the last question. - After that, T ends the session and thanks everyone for their contrubution to the class
