Procedure (33-43 minutes)
Teacher will have learners anser two questions related to the topic to engage them in the class in pairs or small groups via breakout rooms. Teacher will monitor rooms before OCFB (Open class feedback). QUESTIONS: 1. Is there anything that you would like? Why would you like that? 2. Is there anything that you would like to be different? why?
Teacher will expose learners to a listening task. While listening learners have to tick the sentences that were mentioned in the text. They will do this task individually and then they will check their answers by pairs or small groups via breakout rooms. Teacher will monitor groups before OCFB (Open class feedback)
Teacher will introduce the verb 'wish' and 'hope' with the two meanings for the learners to match. Teacher will introduce three sentences using the target language 'wish'. Teacher will elicit from learners the FORM of the sentences. Teacher will ask some CQ´s (Concept questions) to clarify meaning. Teacher will go deeper in how we use the verb wish with other examples. Using the sentences with the target language, teacher will elicit from learners: syllables, word stress and linking if necessary. Teacher will share examples using question and negative form with wish. Teacher will introduce two sentences using target language 'hope´ Teacher will elicit from learners the FORM of the sentences. Teacher will ask some CQ´s (Concept questions) to clarify meaning. Using the sentences with the target language, teacher will elicit from learners: syllables, word stress and linking if necessary. Teacher will share more examples using negative and question form with the target. language
Teacher will provide learners with a controlled practice in GOOGLE FORMS. Learners will answer this individually and then they will compare answers and check in small groups or pairs via breakout rooms. Teacher will monitor groups before OCFB (Open class feedback)
Teacher will ask learners to think of five things that annoy them. Teacher will give them options like: • junk mail • mobile phones • TV adverts • call centres • people's habits • other drivers • background music • bank calls •rubbish Learners have to share their ideas in small groups via breakout rooms using target language 'wish' and 'hope' Teacher will monitor each group and note down examples of good language, language that needs reformulation and language errors.
Teacher will provide students' spoken output.
