Procedure (45-59 minutes)
Teacher will use a short video to set the context of the lesson and engage the students by asking them about what they understood of the video.
The teacher then gives the students the script of the video so they check if they understood correctly and so that they have the sentences written in front of them, which will make it easier for the teacher to highlight the form as well. The teacher nominates students to read the script out loud.
The teacher asks the students some specific questions to highlight the language focus of the lesson.
The teachers follows the MFP approach to clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation by the help of the guided discovery tool. And then the teacher asks her concept checking questions (CCQs).
The teacher gives the students an exercise where they are supposed to choose the correct form of the verb. Students have choices to choose from in each sentence.
The teachers gives the students less controlled practice by asking them to fill in the gaps using a suitable verb. Students don't have choices to choose from.
Teacher assigns the students into groups and asks each group to write a short paragraph about how their days usually goes. After they are done, each group presents what they came up with to the rest of the class.
