Main Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation or short exchange in the context of times and prices

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide practice of numbers lexis, ways to say time and prices in the context of buying tickets at the cinema

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

-T welcomes Ss to the lesson and shares Google Slides -T asks Ss to predict what the topic of the lesson will be about based on images on slide 1. (1 minutes) -T will then display two topical questions on Slide 2 and model answers. -T will then place Ss in BOR and have them ask each other. T will monitor (3 minutes) -T will then nominate Ss to share answers and offer feedback. (1 minute)

Content Preparation or Exposure (4-6 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening

T will show Ss a picture of global time and ask them to provide the time of different cities around the world according to model in BOR

Preparation of Useful Language [MA(F)P] (6-8 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

T will show Ss Vocabulary picture and will model the expressions according to CCQs to clarify the expected production as anticipated in the target language analysis sheet.

Productive Task(s) (12-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Ss are given the opportunity to have conversations at least 2 times, 3 times expected, with different classmates in BRO.

Feedback and Error Correction (4-6 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

T (1): Conducts OCFB to verify understanding and Ss' opinions on the topic towards a wrap-up of the class. Ss (2): Ss share final opinions in OCFB.
