Procedure (33-41 minutes)
-T begins the lesson by displaying the questions: Who is your favorite actor or singer? What does this person look like? Instructions: Discuss with your partner You have 3 minutes for this -T opens breakout rooms -T elicits from SS
T asks SS to take a look at the pictures and descriptions displayed. Instructions: Match the description to its corresponding picture. -T nominates students to participate
Meaning T provides some questions to ask for descriptions and provides how to answers these questions (TL) Ex. What is he/she wearing? She’s wearing… + adj. + noun Form T provides the structure of what follows the phrases. Ex. She’s wearing… + adj. + noun T shows examples of adjectives and nouns that SS can use to complete the sentences Pronunciation T does some drilling
TASK #1 T starts the activity by giving a backstory about a robbery. "Last week I was at a restaurant and a couple stole my bag. Now you will have to help me identify these people" Instructions: If you are student A, you'll describe the criminals to your partner and student B will try to find out who the criminals are. You will have 8 minutes. ICQ's Will student B describe the criminals? (No) How much time do you have? (8 min.) -T assigns a letter to each SS and sends the links in the chat box -T monitors SS and takes notes of language errors -T asks SS: "Who are the criminals?" TASK #2 T tells SS that they will have a discussion. T displays the following: Have you ever been robbed? -Did you see the person? Describe them to your partner -How did you feel? If not… Think about a person you really dislike... and a person you love... Describe them to your partner. -Then share why you love/dislike them. -You will have 10 minutes T asks SS to discuss this in trios (if possible) and opens breakout rooms T monitors and takes notes of language errors T nominates SS to share what they discussed
T uses the whiteboard to write some correct and incorrect sentences/words -T asks if something is wrong with the language on the board -T corrects it and does some drilling
