  • To provide clarification of reported speech in future in the context of job interview

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide detailed listening practice using a text about job interview in the context of job seeking

Procedure

Warm-up/Introduction (1-3 minutes) • To introduce students to the topic

The teacher will show students a picture of 2 people doing an interview to a girl. The teacher will ask questions about the picture to elicit the topic of the lesson. The questions could be: -What do you see in this picture? -How many people are there? -What is their relationship?

Listening Stage #1 (2-4 minutes) • To Develop Students' Listening for Gist

The teacher will clarify that Daisy has just had an interview for a job. Then will ask the students to listen to the conversation and find out how the interview went.

Listening Stage #2 (2-4 minutes) • To Develop Students' Listening for Details.

The teacher will ask the students to listen again to the conversation and tick true or false. This can be done through pair or group work.

Language Point (5-15 minutes) • To Clarify The Language Point of The Lesson

The teacher will show a table consist of to sample sentences which are taken from the listening tape. The teacher will ask some questions based on these sentences. In this stage, students can work as a group or pairs to do this activity.

Controlled Practice (2-5 minutes) • To Practice The Language Point

The teacher will show the gap-filling activity to students and will instruct them to fill the gaps using the correct form of verbs. This activity can also be done as a group or pair work.

Semi-controlled practice (4-12 minutes) • To Give Students Additional Practice About The Language Point

The teacher will show the final slide to students and instruct them to do the activities in it. Just like the pervious stage, this activity can be done as a group work or pairs.
