The main aim of this lesson is to work on lexis related to love relationship in the context of a conversation about two friends.
Subsidiary Aims

By the end of the lesson students will have also discovered the MFP of 8 lexical items and practised on reading and speaking in the post task role-play
Procedure (28-40 minutes)
T asks students to describe a picture and then have a discussion and predict what the conversation they will be working on it will be about. "What can you see in this picture? You are going to read a conversation between two friends. One of them is this man in the picture. Before you read, look at the picture and predict the conversation. Learners work in pairs in breakout rooms and discuss. "
In pairs students will read a conversation between two old friends and underline the words, nouns, verbs connected to love or friend relationship. Instructions: Underline word, verbs, phrasal verbs, idioms concocted to love or friend relationship. Demo the task: The teacher will then give answers.
Teacher gives a link to Jamboard with lexis items and pictures. Lerners sneed to match the lexical item with picture. instructions : Match the orange sticky notes with the correct picture.
Teacher will work on the MEANING by asking CCQ and personalised questions individually. Teacher will work on the FORM of the lexis item with a matching activity. Students have to put the lexical items in 3 different columns ( Verbs, nouns and idioms) Instructions: Put the blue sticky notes under the correct heading. T conducts OCFB and he clarifies F for problematic items. T models the pronunciation of the lexical items and learners repeat individually and chorally.
T asks students to read the sentences and choose the correct word from the word bank. Instruction: Here is a word bank and here are some sentences. You have to fill the gaps with the correct word. Learners read the questions and answer individually. Learners compare answers in pairs (if time allows) T conducts OCFB
Instruction: we are going to have a role-play. Im going to divide into breakout room and put you in pairs. One student is A, the other one is B. First read you situation and imagine what you would do. Then act with your partner and agree on one answer to the problem. Learners work in pairs and discuss.
