Procedure (34-45 minutes)
-Students will look at pictures portraying how locals from their county may speak, offer help and walk, in order to elicit students to describe the actions using adverbs of manner. -Open class discussion.
- The Teacher will give a quick review about the difference between adjectives and adverbs to refresh students knowledge. - Students will read a short text and will highlight the adverbs of manner that they will learn and practice.
The Teacher will explain MFP. -The Teacher will elicit students to mention the purpose of adverbs of manner and the meaning through sentences. -Students will observe how the form of an adverb is from an adjective. -The teacher will perform choral and individual drilling. -The teacher will show the sentence patterns that include adverbs of manner and will elicit examples from students.
Students will answer the Google Forms activity. The task contains 3 sections: -Controlled tasks (1) checks meaning and understanding between adverb and adjective (2) checks form of adverbs of manner -Semi controlled communication task (3) students complete questions, using the correct form of the adverb, and ask their partners to answer the questions Teacher conducts open class feedback.
-In groups, students will write an email to a friend about a recent memory or holiday experience, and they will have to include at least four adverbs of manner. -Each group will present their story. Teacher will elicit students to check each group's story, so students put further into practice their knowledge of adverbs of manner.
