Procedure (37-43 minutes)
T asks learners the following question: What do you usually do at the weekend? T demos the task. Learners discuss in pairs/threees in breakout rooms.
T asks learners to listen out for "question words" in the audio to be played. CCQ: Is "have" a question word? NO Is "where" a question word? YES T asks learners to write them in the chat or in their notebook. ICQ: Where do we write the question words? T plays the audio. Asks students if they want to listen a 2nd time. T elicits question words from the learners and writes them on the whiteboard.
Meaning - T shows slides with sentences using the target language and two possible meanings for each. Activity: Chose the correct option - a or b. Write it in the chat. ICQ: Where do we write the answers? T shows answer keys with the correct option. CCQ: Why is "A" the right answer? Pronunciation: T shows slide highlighting correct sentence stress and linking. T demos the correct prononciation and drills individually and chorally. Form:
First activity: T shows three slides: My perfect weekend - Where am I going? What am I going to do? Who is coming with me? T asks students in turn to guess the answers to the questions.T then reveals answer before moving onto next slide. Second Activity: In breakout rooms, students discuss the following question: What is your perfect weekend.
OCFB T and students discuss in open class what they had been talking about in the breakout rooms. Delayed Error Correction T provides feedback on examples of errors (including pronunciation) using whiteboard and asks students to comment.
