in this lesson, Ss will learn the clothes names and will practice listening in the same topic

Materials

Main Aims

  • by the end of the session, Ss will be able to use the names of the clothes in the context of clothes

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide gist and specific information listening practice using a text about clothing styles in the context of clothes

Procedure

lead in (3-5 minutes) • to generate interest in the topic

1- T starts to talk about the clothes he/she love the most 2- T will ask " tell your partner about your preferred piece of cloth" T uses ICQs: *will you talk about all your clothes or what you love? what I love 3- T will ask Ss to work in pairs 4- T get the feedback

exposure (8-10 minutes) • to ensure Ls are comfortable with the text before exploiting it for language.

1- T will set the listening activity 2- T asks the Ss to listen and answer this question " tell me what are the speakers talk about?" 3- play the audio 4- T asks the Ss to check the answers in pairs 5- T gets the feedback 6- T will give them handout no.1 (in the material file). 7- T says "you will listen again and choose the right answer" 8- give them 1 min. to read questions 9- play the audio again 10 - check-in pairs 11- T gives them the answer key 12- 1 min to read it 13- T get the feedback

Highlighting (3-5 minutes) • to highlight the target language in the context.

1-T will ask them "can you think about the clothes names" 2- T gives them time to think 3- T will ask the Ss to open the handout 1 4 - T will ask the Ss to highlight the clothes names 6- T will elicit from them 7- T will teach what they said and add more as in (LA)

language clarification (15-16 minutes) • to provide clarification of the meaning, form and pronunciation of the TL

1- T starts to elicit the vocabulary as per the last part 2- T adds the new vocabulary as clarified in language analysis 4- T will use pictures (material file) 5- T drills and check the pronunciation 6- T puts the words with the pictures on the board

Practice (8-10 minutes) • to provide an opportunity for learners to use the target language.

1- T will set the activity " handout 2" 2- T will say "now, you will solve this activity alone and you will answer the following" 3- Ss will work individually 4- T asks them to check in pairs 5- T gets the feedback and solve the activity with them 6- T sets the freer activity 7- says " now, with your partner I want you describe what is he/she wearing today" 8- give them time to talk 9- if they finished early, change the partner 10- get the content feedback

feedback (3-5 minutes) • to praise good use of target language to correct errors in target language use

1- T will write their mistakes on the board 2- elicit the right answer from them 3- T recaps on the vocab one more time 4- ends the class
