Procedure (39-55 minutes)
T divides WB into 2 columns and draws a man, and a woman. Elicit from Ss tho topic of the lesson. T gets Ss to sit mixed, a man next to a woman. T elicits from Ss if men and women are the same or different. Ss watch a funny video about the differences between men's and women's brains. Ss discuss their opinions with their partners concerning the video.
T clarifies the MFP for enormous, and telly. T elicits from Ss What things that men never say and things that women never say. Ss work in pairs men and women to read the comments and complete the table: Things women never say, Things men never say. Ss add one comment for men and women.
T draws Ss ' attention to how to express opinions ,eg. I think, If you ask me, In my opinion. Ss say some examples.
Ask Ss : What do women do to attract men?,Do the men do the same? Who has to stay at home and look after children? T clarifies the MFP of some words , such as, survey,questionnaire, attract, attitude, fortnight, in favour of, admitted, claimed, explained, insisted, replied, said, suggested, told.
Ss answer the questionnaire individually and then compare their answers in pairs. T tells Ss that this survey was conducted in UK on one thousand British men and womento find out the differences between male and female attitudes to relationships. Ss read the results of the survey and fill in the gaps using the words: (men, or women) individually .
Ss listen and check their answers . Ss check in pairs. Ss discuss in groups if the survey results are different in their Turkey.
Ss play (Who, What, Where) game. T divides the class into two teams , men and women. Ss complete the table writing some funny things . men write about women and women write about men.
