Review homework and discuss what the student found easy/difficult through open feedback. Explain that we will be going through the grammatical rules one by one together.
Show all gap fill questions along with the following grammar rules in turn. When each rule is introduced, the student is asked to select which questions the rule applies to. The student is then asked to apply the rule to fill in the gaps. Rules: 1) To indicate possession for things: expressions of time 's of s is used. 2) To indicate the possession for things, always use 'of' with the words front, top, bottom, back and end. 3) To indicate the possession for things, use 'of'. 4) For common nouns, of in not necessary and the word position changes. 5) To indicate possession for people or animals add 's to singular nouns and to plural nouns not ending in s. 6) Add ' to plural nouns ending in s Review the student's answers, question and elicit correction where needed.
Give the student a new gap fill exercise to assess understanding and use of possessives: She’s a successful manager and she is good at dealing with __________ (problems customers) Her parents are Mexican and when she travels to Mexico she stays on her __________ (parents farm) ________ lives in Lima (Maria cousin) I have left the parcel round the _________ (back house) The ___________ is delicious!
