Procedure (33-45 minutes)
Within a minute SS write as many troubles they can experience on their holiday as possible. They come to the board to write down one of "their" trouble. Everything needs to be written only once.
SS watch and listen to the video without a worksheet. Then SS listen to it again individually (PC classroom) and fill the worksheet (exercises 4, 5, 7 need to be done by everyone, exercises 8, 10 are voluntary). In groups of 3 SS check out their answers. If something is unclear, they can ask the other groups. SS do exercise 9 (past simple form, listening is not necessary again) and check it out in pairs or a group of 3. SS come to the board to write down verbs and past simple form on the board.
SS write a short story called My holiday disaster. It can be funny and crazy. T. writes criteria on the board The story must: 1. be from the past, 2. start and finish (SS are not allowed to write sentences without a story), 3. contain at least 5 "troubles" from our brainwriting (still on the board), 4. contain at least 6 verbs from the chart on the board, S can ask T for help, use a chart of irregular verbs and their past forms in a classbook. When finished, SS swap their stories in a pair, check the criteria and provide feedback. If SS haven't finished the story, it can be done at home. T provides written feedback next lesson.
