To provide writing practice and utilization of lexis in the context of favorite places.
Procedure (40-50 minutes)
Ss will complete a cross word puzzle using the vocabulary Ss have learned in previous LPs. This activity will be used to engage the students and serve as a word bank for the following exercise. WC FB will ensure the answers are correct.
I will utilize an overhead projection picture of Alaska, Cairo, Denver and Barcelona. I will use this picture to demonstrate the uses of, "There is," "There isn't," "There aren't," and "There are" with the WC.
Ss will receive clarification on vocabulary that will be used in the next productive exercise. The focus will be on adjectives that will be added to the nouns used in the previous exercise. MFP will be used to introduce and CCQ's will be used to check Ss comprehension.
Ss will use PW to speak to each other about their favorite place to live. Ss will speak using "There isn't," "There is," "There are," and "There aren't." For WC FB Ss will communicate with the teacher using one sentence about their favorite place to live.
Ss will correct sentences on the WB that have errors.
