To provide gist reading practice using a text about men and women favorite activities in the context of free time activities
Procedure (28-39 minutes)
I will ask students a lead-in question: What do you do in your free time? I will ask students to discuss in pairs or groups in BreakOut rooms
Ss will tell practice gist reading to find the main topic of the text
Ss will read a paragraph that contains the target language Ss will highlight all the prases and expressions related to free times activities Sss discuss in pairs T conducts OCFB
Meaning I will give students a link to a Google form task. I will ask Ss to match the phrases with the pictures Students will figure the meaning by themselves and check in pairs OCFB will be conducted to check the meaning Form: Students will match the phrases together and elicited the form from them: verb+ noun collocations Ex, Go (v) Shopping (n) Pronunciation: I will explain where the stress falls Ex, stay In T drills individually and chorally
Ss will classify the nouns with the verbs Ss check their answers in pairs T conducts OCFB
Ss will interview each other in pairs asking some questions: Do you watch TV in the evening? Do you go shopping on weekends? Do you phone your friends/family on weekdays? Ss tell about things in common
