Main Aims

By the end of the lesson, students will be able to understand a listening text DVD in the context of a ritual and human behaviour, listening for gist and detailed information.
Subsidiary Aims

By the end of the lesson, students will be able to discuss and talk about some gestures in Turkey "speaking skill". To provide fluency speaking practice in a group work activity .
Procedure (33-44 minutes)
Teacher will ask students some questions about ritual in Turkey.I will raise their interest in the topic which .Then the teacher will ask students some questions in terms of behaviour .1- What kind of ritual can you see in each photo?2- How well do you think the people know each other?3- Do you do anything similar in your country?
Teacher will elicit some vocabulary relating to the gist and specific information questions using some pictures Students will work in pairs to know about the topic and know the new vocabulary .How many different ways of shaking hands do you know?How do you express “you’re crazy” ?
The task before listening for gist will be answering two questions:How many different ways of shaking hands do you know?How do you express “you’re crazy” ? .Then I will play the DVD and the students will complete each sentence with a number
To provide students with more challenging detailed reading for specific information. They have to read eight questions, first before I play the DVD, They have to listen again and answer the questions .I will tell them if you need to stop the video ell me loudly stop to give them enough time for writing the answer.After they finish, I will check their answers in pairs and I will take feedback from the whole class.
Teacher will ask students to answer questions to be asked with your partner .Teacher will tell students about a personal ritual of his own . Students will answer the questions and check in pairs after that they will ask speak during a discussion .Work in pairs and discuss the questions. 1- Do you have any customs or rituals that are particular to your family or that are typical in your culture? Think about holidays, birthdays, particular days of the week, food and drink.
