To provide process and product writing practice of a description in the context of describing one's favorite person.
Subsidiary Aims

To provide gist reading practice using a text about to describe a person in the context of my favorite person.
Procedure (43-44 minutes)
The teacher greets the students. 4-5 images will be shown to the students. They will be asked to describe the persons in the picture. The teacher will elicit the answers from the students by nominating their names.
The students are provided with a sample description of a person. They will be instructed to read the text for 3 minutes and find out words that describe the following. 1. What she looks like. (Appearance) 2. How she behaves. (Personality) 3. What she does. (Job) This will be followed by an open class discussion where the teacher will elicit the answers from the students. AK: Youngest, short, slim, beautiful, talented dancer, ambitious, sociable, kind-hearted, optimistic
The students will be shown a list of adjectives related to the appearance and personality of a person. The teacher will check their knowledge of this vocabulary with CCQs. The pronunciation will be checked by the drilling method. If there is any unfamiliar adjective, this will be clarified using CCQs. Tall, Short, Slim, Well-built, Handsome, Beautiful, Blonde, Brunette-Adjectives to describe appearance. The students will be asked to write a description of their favorite person in 6-8 lines. They have to include the following in their writing. Name of the person. How do you know him/her? Where he/she lives. What he/she looks like. (Appearance) How he/she behaves. (Character/Personality) What he/she does. (Job) They will be given 10-12 minutes for planning and writing the answer in their notebook/google slides. Then the students will be sent to the Break Out Rooms to discuss their answers with their partners.
The teacher will elicit feedbacks on the productive task from the students by nominating their names.
The teacher will observe the students in the break out rooms and provide necessary feedback and error correction by eliciting the correct answers from the students.
