Procedure (32-44 minutes)
Ss discuss in groups the following: Are you quick to make a decision, or do you take your time and think carefully?” Ss are sent to Breakout rooms - (2 min) OCFB: 3 Ss are nominated to share their thoughts - (2 min)
Ss Read the text and assign each of the paragraphs one of the titles shown. Ss work individually (1min) + Peer Check Breakout rooms (1min) OCFB: Check answers all together
Ask Ss to focus on the words in bold: 1. What type of words are they?
Meaning: students make an exercise to identify the meaning of preference, judgement, instructed, concentrate, responsible and convince. Form: ask Ss 2 CCQs to identify what type of words are these? Noun, verb. Can they change? Pronunciation: - Sentence stress: T Read aloud and ask Ss where is the sentence stress. - Ss drill.
Ss practice the use of the new lexis with a fill in the gaps exercice. Instructions: Fill in the gaps with the correct option given below. Show one example: do Sentence #1 together with the Ss.
Ss personalise the use of the target language: "judgement", "confidence", "preference", "responsible" Ss will be asked to discuss about "Do you trust your first impression instincts? Why?" After giving instructions Ss exchange opinions with their peers (3 min) ICQ Ss write down an idea first (1 min) Ss discuss in Breakout rooms (2 min) T Monitors Breakout rooms and take notes of wrong sentences to identify mistakes and correct in DEC.
