Description

The students will be shown a few pictures and asked some questions about the pictures as a warmer activity. Later the audio will be played to present the functional language in context by conversations. Also they will answer the questions about the conversations.Then the functional language will be given within a wall clock.And the learners will elicit the hours by a lot drills. In addition, the learners will be given a task and asked to work in pairs. Also the teacher's roll of film will be sticted on WB and the times of the actions will be written.Then the students will discuss what the teacher does at this time. Finally a dart clock will be sticked on the WB and the students will throw dart arrows on dart clock. After that they will tell what they do at this time.

Main Aims

  • To introduce and practice the functional language ' what is the time'

Subsidiary Aims

  • to provide speaking practices of the target language.

Procedure

Warmer (1-3 minutes) • to introduce the topic by a quick speaking task with the help of pictures.

The students will be shown a few pictures and make them speak about these pictures.

Listening (1-7 minutes) • to present the functional language in context by conversations.

The students will listen the conversations and answer the the questions related to the conversations

Functional language (1-10 minutes) • to draw students' attention to the items of the functional language.

A wall clock will be put on the WB, later the students will elicit the times in clock. And some questions will be written on WB and asked to answer these questions to be sure whether they elicit or not. In addition; there will be a lot drills.

Speaking Test 1 (1-10 minutes) • to allow students an opportunity to use TL.

The students will work in pairs and talk about a typical day using the functional language. Ex. What time do you get up? At 09.00 o'clock

Speaking Test 2 (1-10 minutes) • to provide them to practice the functional language in TL

.The roll of film will be sticted on the WB containing actions of the teacher. Also the times of the actions on the board. After that the students will work in groups and discuss at which times the teacher does the action .WCFD

Speaking Test 3 (1-5 minutes) • to provide them to practice the functional language in TL

The dart clock will be sticted on the WB and the students will throw the dart arrow on the dart clock. Then the students will tell what they do at this time.
