Description

In this lesson, students will learn present continuous tense by listening, speaking skills in warmup followed by role-playing during teacher`s and peer interactions. The lesson will be followed by mechanical practicing and CCQ.

Abc pictures .flashcards .role play .pantomime

Main Aims

  • To provide form and usage, vocabulary, pronunciation of the words .

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluent speaking practice.

Procedure

Warm Up/ Lead in • To get students talking & announce "Today we will practice the present continuous tense" .

Ask one of the students to come on the board and read the sentence written to the board . for example: Sara ,read the sentence. teacher tells the students "what is he doing?" teacher says to them" he is reading " teacher asks another student to speak. Teacher tells her, Sara "What are you doing?" and teacher answers " ok ,you are speaking".

ICQ • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Is it true or false? Sara is read or Sara is reading?

Exposure • To provide context to teach the target language

I show the students some flashcards. In every slide of my power point there is a picture of boy or a girl or they or it ,doing an action "A boy is brushing the teeth, A girl is writing ,a man is walking, they are running, the cat is eating . at first i ask "what is he doing?" I say" brush", :brushing, he is brushing the teeth .
