To provide fluency speaking practice in a controlled and semi controlled conversations in the context of daily routine
Procedure (23-45 minutes)
Teacher introduce some verbs by using her body language and tries to elicit the names of the actions. WC do it activity: T shows an action name on a card (jump, walk, sleep, wash your face) and students do it as a WC.
Stick the verbs on the board and explain that they are all called "verbs" Elicit some more verbs from the students. -Write couple of sentences on the board including (I, She and he) WC- TS ask students which ones are verbs. Call some students on the board to underline them. -Chest HO1 read and underline PW: Students will have 2 different text about Laure. They will find the verbs in the text and underline them. ICQ: you will read and....(elicit) -WC feedback: Telicits the answers and writes them on the board.
-PW: they have 2 different texts and they discuss the differences between them, (Try to differentiate V1 and Vs) -Feedback: elicit the answers from the pairs. -Chest visual: T chests the -S letter and students think for a second. introduce the use of Vs and show the differences by giving V1 and Vs examples about herself. (demonstration) Choose some students give them S letter and a verb from the board and let them make some sentences about their friends by using that verb and S letter together. -Chest HO2 Read and find the correct answers (verb). (ındividual work.) ICQ: You will read and...(elicit the answer to make sure they understood.) Check in pairs.
pg 23 (Global elementary) Draw the pronounciation chart on the board -Choral Drilling: Listen and repeat Vs. Listen one time and let them repeat couple of times. -Individual Drilling. after choral drilling ask them individually to repat VS. (Use the chart and show the verbs on the chart during listening. ) ICQ: Listen and..... -Chest HO3: Individual work: Listen and write the words in the correct coloumn. -Check in pairs. -WC feedback: elicit the answer and let them write the verbs in the correct place on the board.
Chest HO4 Choose 4words and make sentences ICQ: Choose ......words? and.......... PW: give speaking cards to the pairs' theychoose 4 words and make sentences about them. Observe the students and make sure if they use target language.
HO4 Questionnaire: Ask and write Students write their answers first. Ask their partners and compare their answers. If time needed: T-S feedback: throw a ball to a student and elicit the answers then they throw eachother to fnd whose daily routines are similar to eachother.
