Procedure (35-45 minutes)
Work in pairs and discuss the benefits of each drug given. See appendix 1. Students need to use expression like: IT IS USED TO.. IT IS PRESCRIBED TO.. IT HELPS...
Students match a transcription abbreviation with their meaning, teacher then presents a chart for the students to study in preparation for a listening activity. See appendix 2
Students work in pairs and compare their answers, teacher provide feedback and make sure their chart is correct.
After reading the passage in the first part of appendix 3, work with a partner and discuss the questions below.
Students work in pairs to prepare a role play, one have to act as the patience the other as the doctor then they present to the whole class, they need to use vocabulary seen in class Appendix 1.
