Description

In this systems lesson, we test for previous knowledge, then illustrate MFP for Simple Past vs. Present Perfect in an interactive way, test them a second time, conduct feedback, and then finally, give Ss the opportunity to practice using the TL in a freer environment.

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification and review of Present Perfect and Simple Past in the context of marker sentences for past actions vs. accomplishments among others

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a true/false game in the context of personal accomplishments

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-3 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Cover aims on Slide 1 Show slide 2 Ask question: "Have you been to Mazunte? If so, when?" Show slide 3 Ask question: "How about Xochimilco?" OCFB

Test #1 (7-8 minutes) • To gauge students' prior knowledge of the target language
