Description

In this session, at first, students will learn some vocabulary about some personal care products. Then they will be taught a grammar about quantifiers. At last they will listen to a new conversation and talk about it.

Materials

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification of language used for Making requests in the context of Personal care products

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a Conversation in the context of Personal care products
  • To provide gist listening practice using a text about make up words in the context of Personal care products

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

The students will listen to an audio about some personal care products. in the same time they will look at some pictures which they are about those products. After that they will listen to the audio again, but this time they will repeat after pause. This will help the students to engage with our lesson more than before.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

In this stage, students will talk to each other as a group. They should talk about their experiences about buying some personal care products or using them. It will help them to use the new words in speaking so they will learn the lesson easier. Of course, They can use the pictures of the book if they want to or if they forget some words.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

In this stage, students should do some circle drills with the help of an audio. They will listen to some conversations to infer the answers. It will help them to understand the meaning very well.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

I will make sure that students will use the words properly and pronounce them correctly by some repeat exercises. After that it's time to teach them the Quantifiers grammar completely and make sure that they will use them in the correct order. After that it's the time for some PW to see if they can use count nouns and non-count nouns in the right way in their speaking.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Now, it's the time for some exercises about the grammar. The students will answer to some gap-fill and circle questions to see if they get the grammar in a right way or not. In this part they may have some questions, so I will help them to answer the questions and remove their doubt about the grammar.

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

After the handouts, the students will listen to an audio which contains a conversation about a man who wants to buy some personal care products. After that the students will listen again and repeat. Finally, they will underline the quantifiers in the conversation and check the answers together. They can even change the dialog and make their own story and use some new quantifiers.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

In the last stage, the students have an opportunity for fluency practice of the target language to describe some personal care products are used and where we can buy all of these stuffs.
