To provide fluency speaking practice in a interview in the context of roleplaying as a famous person

To provide practice of interview phrases and responses in the context of roleplaying as a famous person
Procedure (33-43 minutes)
T will share Jamboard page 1 with photos of famous people and ask students who are these people. and what are they known for? T will elicit answer from students. T will ask follow up questions to further set up context and activate prior knowledge ie: What kind of things do you know about these people? If Ss are unsure, T will prompt Ss by asking "what kind of things do we read about on wikipedia when we search their names" T will highlight answers by posting it on the Jamboard page 1, for example: love lives/relationships, childhood, career background, etc. Folllow up question: Where do you find out this information?
T will instruct students to roleplay by introducing the task with Jamboard page 2 and asking "If you could be famous, what would you want to be famous for?" T will give a demo. Ss will answer the question in breakout rooms (2-3 mins) T will elicit answer from 1 S. T will instruct students to prepare to interview their famous classmates by choosing 2topics and Ss will make at least 2 questions per topic (ie. Childhood: What was your childhood like? Where did you grow up?) Ss will prepare individually (2 mins)
T will share Jamboard page 3 with Ss and explain how to complete the task (post a post-it with examples of questions and/or responses) Ss will write down useful questions and responses to questions for 2 minutes. T will do feedback and elicit examples from Ss(1-2 min)
Ss will use the first 2 questions prepared in advance to interview each other while pretending to be a famous person and an interviewer. Ss take turns to interview each other (4-5 mins) T will conduct OCFB and elicit responses from 1-2 Ss (2 min) Ss will return to breakout rooms and discuss the 2 other questions Ss will ask each other questions (4-5 mins) T will conduct OCFB and elicit responses from 1-2 Ss (2 min)
T will monitor during the lesson and use a blank Google Slide or the Zoom board to correct any speaking mistakes noticed during class time.
