Procedure (35-45 minutes)
T displays on Jamboard six images of different places and asks SS where they went for their last holiday, the question is "Where did you go for your last holiday?". SS provide short answers. T displays four pictures and asks SS if they recognize the places: "Can you recognize these places?". SS give ideas/names about pictures. T starts to talk SS about her last holiday. 5 minutes.
T shares on Jamboard her own review regarding her last holiday. T elicits SS identify the three sections and the language of the review with some CCQs: a) Which paragraph provides basic information about my holiday? (Where did I go?, Who with?, How long for?) b) Which paragraph says what I did and where I went for holiday? c) Which paragraph describes what I liked or disliked of my holiday? T and SS match together the sections of the review and identify if language used is formal or informal. 6 minutes for this task.
T asks SS write a short review about their last holiday. SS should use the three sections (2-3 lines per section) and they need to: a) say where they went, who with and for how long. b) say what they did and describe the place. c) talk about they liked and disliked. Students have 16 minutes for writing practice.
T provide SS a checklist so that SS can read a peer's review. In pairs, SS will work in breakout rooms and they will give each other feedback after using the checklist. Students have 8 minutes to check and feedback. T conducts OCFB.
