Students will be presented with a would you rather activity that they will do in breakout rooms. Questions: - WOULD YOU RATHER always have a big smile on your face or always a big frown? - WOULD YOU RATHER be able go back in time, or be able to see your future?
Students will read a small conversation between two people and then will have to answer 3 questions: 1. What activity does Ray doesn't feel like doing? 2. What activity does Ray prefer? 3. Does Andy want to meet Mary at the theatre? They will check their answer via private message.
A small explanation on preferences and how they are used will be given using example. I will have the students read the examples to have them practice speaking.
Students will do an activity with a partner in breakout rooms: Look at the table. Ask your classmate what he or she hates, likes, and prefers and fill in the blank space. Build sentences using your partner’s answers. An example will be shown and after this the students will create sentences using their partner's answers. Then, they will share their sentences with the entire class.
Students will share their preferences on two subjects using the target language in breakout rooms. They will have 3-4 minutes to discuss then will be paired up with different partners.
