Procedure (34-43 minutes)
T will greet Ss screenshare share Google Slide with prompt: "Share about a bad day you had. What happened?" to introduce topic to Ss. Ss will answer the discussion question in breakout rooms (2min) T will elicit response from 1 Ss (1min)
T will screenshare the gist task and instruct Ss on how to answer. T will share Text with Ss and Ss will read on their own and answer the Gist task (3 min) Ss will discuss in groups their answers to the gist task. (2min) T will elicit answer from 1-2 Ss (1-2 min)
T will share Google Form with Meaning short answer task and highlight the 4 sentences with target language. T will instruct students on how to answer the meaning task. Ss will work on meaning multiple choice questions individually (2min) Ss will compare answers in groups (2 min) T will conduct OCFB to go over meaning by eliciting answers from students and using timeline and CCQ to ensure that students have understood. (2 min) T will screenshare Form slides and instruct students on how to fill out the form (making structure and using sentences to fill out substitution board). Ss will work in groups to answer slides for form. (2min) T will conduct OCFB to go over meaning by eliciting answers from students (2 min) T will quickly review pronunciation of contractions with "hadn't" and pronouns +'d using IPA (2min)
T will screenshare Google form with Controlled Practice Task of short answer questions. T will complete one of the questions with Ss as an example. (1min) Ss will complete individually (2 min) Ss will compare answers in breakout rooms. (2 min) T will conduct OCFB (2 min)
T will screenshare Google Slide with free practice question. Students will retell their "bad day" story but use past perfect simple tenses. T will demonstrate how to answer. (1 min) Ss will answer in breakout rooms (3min) T will elicit answers from Ss (2min)
