Description

In this lesson, students will learn about noun formation. Students will be enabled to learn which nouns can become verbs, they will learn meaning, form, and pronunciation, how they change, and how to use it in regular - short conversations. Ss will discuss one question to set up the context. They will complete a Google form to look for gist. Two challenging words will be discussed to cover MFP using Google jamboard. For Controlled practice, Ss will complete one questioner for this practice. For Freer's practice, Ss will conduct a short conversation with the nouns formation given in class. Peer check and feedback will be guided in between practices. Final practice to respond, feedback, and delay error

Materials

Main Aims

  • For students to identify verbs and nouns formation and when to use them

Subsidiary Aims

  • In this lesson students will be available to use the verbs and nouns given in class to create a short conversation

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Ss will discuss in pairs or groups one question about where they would imagine going on holiday tomorrow.

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through a text or situation

Ss will read a conversation made for the teacher to look for gist on nouns & verbs that will be discussed in the class Ss will complete a Google form to look for the gist, will work individually, and compare answers in groups.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

Two challenge words choose from the conversation will be discussed with the Ss, to cover MFPA. Ss will complete a Google document where they need to match the challenging words with their MFP. Ss will work in groups.

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

The teacher will conduct an Open Class Feedback with Ss. to answer questions and clarify the MFP.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Ss will complete a Google form to practice the nouns formations discuss before. Ss will complete the form indivudually

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

The teacher will conduct an Open Class feedback will the help of a google form.

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Ss will have some practice time for them to use the noun & verbs formation in a short conversation.
