Procedure (42-53 minutes)
Warm-up: As a competition, the teacher gives the students 1 letter and they have to come up with 3 words start with the same letter, the teacher gives them more letters, the faster is the winner. Lead-in: T- Do u remember what we studied in the last session? Ss- Jobs T- Jobs like what? Ss- doctor, vet, and engineer. T- Well done, do you want to know where they work? Ss- Yeeees T- Great, today we are going to learn new vocabulary about places in our city. (use a picture to make it clear) Ask them to write all the places they know in the chatbox to activate their prior knowledge.
The teacher uses pictures to elicit the different places from the students to clarify the meaning, pronunciation, and form For example A picture of a pharmacy T: What is that? Ss: It's a pharmacy T: Why do we go there? The teacher gives the Ss exercise number 1 to complete it with the right place. For example: We go to _________ to buy medicine. (pharmacy) Exercise number 2 to complete the sentences with the right verb. For example: We go to the pharmacy to _________ . (buy medicine)
Students will be given a list of places and they need to choose 5 places they want to go to and say why? The students will do this activity in pairs
The teacher gives the Ss 6 questions related to the theme of the lesson to discuss them in pairs.
