Procedure (32-46 minutes)
Students will be presented with two questions that are related to the type of sentences we will be seeing in class. The questions will include Phrasal Verbs and they will discuss in pairs in breakout rooms. Questions: 1. Have you ever done something you didn’t want to do because of peer pressure? How did that turn out? 2. After a long hard day, what is something that puts a smile on your face? After this, students will share their comments with the entire class.
Students will be presented with a Google Forms that they will answer individually and then share their answers with a partner through private message. After this, the teacher will nominate students to check the answers and provide feedback if necessary. - The activity will be: From the word-bank below, choose the best phrasal verb to complete the sentence. - Word-bank: Cheering up / Fit in with / Pass by / Talked into / Gone ahead / Putting out / Catch up on /
Students will have to complete the box. They will se the meaning and form of a phrasal verb. Next they will match the verb with the correct meaning and write an example sentence using the phrasal verb. The activity will be done individually and then the teacher will nominate students to answer the questions.
The students will have to complete the sentences with the correct Phrasal Verbs. The activity also includes the change of verb tenses. The exercise will be done individually and then they will be able to check with a partner on breakout rooms before sharing their answers with the entire class.
Students will be presented with a Google Forms where they need to complete the phrasal verb with the correct adverb or preposition. This will be done individually before checking with a peer via private message. After this the teacher will nominate students to share the answer.
Students will work in pairs or small groups. They will have to come up with a small text or paragraph using the Phrasal Verbs they have learned so far.
