Description

In this lesson, learners will learn how to talks about future arrangements/plans using the present continuous.they begin talking about activities that will happen in the future through a given picture.Next,they do some listening which confirm the form of the present continuous .Then, the students do some exercises by filling in blanks about the same tense( controlled practice).Finally, they will a chance to practice the tense by talking about a holiday that they might go on through freer practice.

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification, review and practice of present continuous tense for future arrangements in the context of travel

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide specific information listening practice using statements about present continuous tense for future arrangements

Procedure

Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Actually by presenting a photo that can give a good idea about the whole lesson.This picture can provide some exercises which the students face through the lesson and they will practice the language from the first start.

Highlighting (2-4 minutes) • To draw students' attention to the target language

by presenting some grammatical forms and explanation of the tense and its use by providing model language

Clarification (8-10 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

by illustrating the tense by providing many examples and also by setting up a listening task to make sure that they understand the form and uses of the present continuous for future plans.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check and prepare students for more meaningful practice

Asking the students to do an exercise which mainly deal with the present continuous for future plans .So, they have to fill in the blanks with correct form individually then they check their answers with their peers to get the final feedback with explanation from the T.

Semi-Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To concept check further and prepare students for free practice

Free Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language
