In this lesson, students will learn writing skills and layout of personal profile writing.

Materials

Main Aims

  • To provide product writing practice of a Personal Profile in the context of About me

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide review of nouns in the context of Law, cinema and manager and to enable students practice their speaking skills by exchanging their written work

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (2-4 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

T and Ss will introduce each other. T will personalize the topic by introducing myself with visual pictures. T will ask Ss to introduce themselves to their peers in break a room: They will be given 2 minutes. T will conduct OCFB

Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading

Read for gist: T will provide link by google forms T will scaffold the instructions: Read the text first then answer the question. Ss will have 1 minute to complete the task T will conduct OCFB and show the answers T will ask Ss to check and compare the answers Layout-Introduce the organization T will provide link by google forms T will scaffold the instructions: Read the questions first, read the text again then answer the questions. Ss will have 3 minutes to complete the task T will conduct OCFB and show the answers T will ask Ss to check and compare the answers.

Useful Language (6-8 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks

T will cover M.F.P: Law, manager and cinema T will explain the meaning T will provide CCQs with pictures and require the Ss to engage T will ask Ss to think of the form and require them to engage Pronunciation will omitted to save time

Productive Task(s) (10-15 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills

Parallel writing: T will send link by google jamboard T will scaffold the instructions: Read the sentences and match the sentences to order from 1-6 Ss complete the task: they will be given 3 minutes T will conduct OCFB T will provide answers and ask Ss to check and compare T will ask Ss the layout of personal profile Freer writing: T will send link by google docs T will scaffold personal profile writing T will scaffold the instructions: Find your name in the box and write a personal profile about you using the same layout Ss complete the writing task: 5 minutes After completion: Ss exchange their written work in break a room: They will be given 3 minutes.

Feedback and Error Correction (5-8 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language

After completion of work: T will conduct OCFB on the task T will conduct delayed error correction on their written work
