Procedure (37-45 minutes)
To set up the context. T will share a question on Jamboard : Where did you go on your last vacation? then T will send the Ss to the Breakoutrooms and they have to talk about their last vacations for 2 minutes,. After the 2 minutes, T will nominate ss and elicit answers
1.For the layout, T will show a postcard that he created and ask Ss to read it. After they have to Identify the parts of a postcard and they will match the section with numbers. Example: Greeting 1 Body 2 Closing 10 2. For the language, Ss will identify the language that is part of the postcard, T will share an exercise where students have to work in pairs, they will fill in gaps with common phrases that are used when we write a postcard. T will ask if the language of the postcard is formal or informal.
Ss will produce their own postcard on Google slides. The will have a slide with their names and a template to write their postcards. T will monitor them while they write. Students will have 20 minutes for this activity. This an individual task.
T will provide Ss with an online checklist with the different sections of the postcard and the language that they should use. So Ss will read a peerĀ“s postcard. Twill send them to breakout rooms and they will give each other feedback after using the checklist. The checklist will have the following aspects: The postcard has Greeting (hi,hello) Sentences in present continuous Body Sentences in past simple Closing Contractions Signature Stamp Recipient Street City Zip code Country
