To provide clarification of some adjectives and phrases in the context of how to become a millionaire.
Subsidiary Aims

To provide gist reading practice using a text about characteristics of rich people in the context of how to become a millionaire.
Procedure (45-60 minutes)
I will show them a video clip from the movie "Fiddler on the Roof" and introduce the context by discussing the song with w/c for 2 minutes.
I will write "How to become a millionaire" on the board and will ask the students to discuss this in pairs and then w/c f/b.
I will ask the students to fold the paper into two to focus them on the particular area we work on. They will read 3 paragraphs and guess what jobs they might be talking about. Then I will do the first one in 1B as an example to help Ss understand the instructions better. They will work alone to complete the exercise and then will check in pairs
I'll give the vocabulary to Ss through the exercise on page 151.
Ss will read the statements in 2A and will decide if they are true or false according to their opinion.
I will show the photos of Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg and Steve Jobs to the students and tell them that they all have common traits. For example they all dropped out from college, they are all very cautious about spending money and many more traits that is being mentioned in the reading text.
I will ask CCQs about the reading text to check their understanding . - "Do you have to be born rich to be a millionaire?" - "What's the most important thing for a millionaire?" - "Do you need to start early in the business life to become rich?" - "Should you take a lot of holidays?" - "Do you need to take risks and be competitive?"
I will divide the white board into two and write "Dos" on the left side and "Don'ts" on the left side, I'll write the ideas I get from students under these titles so that they can see which are said.
Students will talk about their opinions on the article they read. They will discuss if they agree or not.
