In this lesson, students will be taught the second conditional using if clause and main clause in the context of "If...., I would/wouldn't" in daily situations with the following questions: 1. If the pandemic ended right now, what would you do? Before that, T. gives his opinion, shares his options to invite the Ss to do the same with other hypothesis -suggested by pictures- following the structure "If the pandemic ended right now, I would or I'd ....". They work in pair for 2 minutes, then collective sharing.
- Provide examples with second conditional to find in a short text. Students will find 2 consequences with "I would..." in one minute. Sharing. (2 minutes) What would I do if I won the Lottery? If I won the lottery... Wow! I would do so many things, and my life would be so different. I’d love the chance to change my life with the money. The first thing I would do is buy a big, new house. With all that money, I would buy anything I wanted, for example I would buy a new car. Or, I’d even buy a new motorcycle. I would probably give my money to a charity that helps sick children. Also, if any of my friends needed anything, I would help them pay for it. Plus, if I had a lot of money, I would certainly save some of it in the bank. - Intensive Task: Individual work. Complete the sentences of the two columns. Match 1-8 with a-i. (2.5 minutes) Individual work. Complete the sentences of the two columns.
