Description

In this lesson students will be introduced to and practice forming adjectives

Materials

Main Aims

  • To provide clarification and practice of adjectives in the context of inspiration and advice.

Subsidiary Aims

  • To provide fluency speaking practice in a conversation in the context of inspiration

Procedure

Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students

Ss will discuss the following questions in groups in breakout rooms. How do you feel about giving/getting advice? Do you give people advice? If yes, to who? What kind of advice do you give or receive?

Exposure (4-5 minutes) • To provide context for the target language through the text

Ss will read text quickly and answer the questions in task 1 individually. Then they will compare their answers in pairs in the chatbox. Then we will do OCFB.

Clarification (5-6 minutes) • To clarify the meaning, form and pronunciation of the target language

T will cover meaning, form and pronunciation of selected adjectives on google slides.

Controlled Practice (8-10 minutes) • To provide controlled practice of the language

Ss will do task 2 individually and then check their answers in pairs through chat box. Then we will do OCFB.

Free Practice (10-12 minutes) • To provide students with free practice of the target language

Ss will discuss the following questions in groups in breakout rooms. - Who is the most talented person you know? - Where is your favorite place to go? Following this T will conduct feedback and DEC.
