To provide review and practice of language used for Telling anecdotes and asking questions (starters, follow-up and closing ones) in the context of Memorable events
Procedure (41-52 minutes)
Tt prompts a slide with memorable events pics and elicits two specific things, the first is about choosing one word -adjective expected- for each pic and asks a second question when a simple choice is to be made, are these events memorable? Y/N answer expected here. Tt asks why to a couple of students and moves on to the next stage
1.- Tt shares the screen and shows Ss the first activity sheet. 2.- Tt brushes up and gives clear instructions to Ss 3.- Tt shares the link not before asking CCQ's about the task a) task individually b) compare with your partners -break out rooms 4.- When having the answers Tt goes to break out rooms and ask students to compare answers 5.- Tt runs an answer-check round with the whole class
1.- Tt shares the screen on a Jamboard slide and presents the activity 2.- Tt shares the link to students asking them to work in pairs, Ss will discuss the activity in pairs and go back to the main room when finish 3.- Tt do an answer-check round with the class
Tt presents the activity to Ss following this guidelines: 1.- Ss will have 3 conversations with 3 different classmates where they'll tell their anecdotes and will be aided by a question sheet (Tt shows and shares it on the chat) 2.- Before doing so Tt models the activity by picking one student -one of the strongest ones- and 3.- Tt sends Ss to break rooms and monitors the activity 4.- Tt takes notes to DEC
Tt runs error correction with the class Tt uses a word document shared on the screen to clarify, first Ss will analyze and then Tt will lead them to finding the right answer and seeks for self-correction in the first place
