Procedure (35-45 minutes)
T displays an inspirational quote. Does this quote inspire you to reach your goals? What other things you do to motivate yourself when having a bad day? S will go to break out rooms and share their ideas.
-T shares the link from Google forms -T asks students to read the text about (inspirations) quickly. -T will share the reading by google forms -Ss will need to categorize each adjective according to their suffix or prefix. FB- T asks students to share their answers.
-T shares screen for visual support. -T conducts OCFB and for each word she clarifies Meaning by using CCQs Example: Powerful Meaning: having a lot of power to control people and events. Example: She's a extremely powerful runner. CCQs: Is she an strength woman? Yes Can she run fast? Yes Does she run slowly? No -T asks eliciting questions to cover FORM. What type of word is? Adjective Pronunciation /ˈpaʊəfʊl/ How many syllables does it have? 3 pow-er-ful Which is the stress syllable? pow
-T shares link from Google forms to answer activity. Instructions: You will need to complete the adjectives in bold with the correct prefix. - Students will check the answers in pairs, via private messages.
-Ss will get in pairs (or groups of 3) to describe themselves using some adjective like the ones we just used, and say which characteristics do you most admire? and which do you find most annoying? T- conducts feedback.
