Main Aims

To introduce and provide practice of speaking for fluency in the context of comparing ideas
Subsidiary Aims

To give students an opportunity to extend their understanding and use of expressions to exchange their ideas
Procedure (45-55 minutes)
Warmer/Lead-in (3-5 minutes) • To set lesson context and engage students
Students talk about their interests related to their (future) jobs.
Exposure (8-10 minutes) • To provide a model of production expected in coming tasks through reading/listening
Students listen to four students who talk about their interests and take notes.
Useful Language (8-10 minutes) • To highlight and clarify useful language for coming productive tasks
Students learn useful language: to express their opinions and agree/disagree.
Productive Task(s) (18-20 minutes) • To provide an opportunity to practice target productive skills
Students talk about the future jobs of the four people in pairs. Students talk with different partners.
Feedback and Error Correction (8-10 minutes) • To provide feedback on students' production and use of language
Students give feedback to the class. They decide what kinds of jobs are suitable to the four people.
