To introduce and provide practice of functional language for giving opinion.

Procedure (34-13 minutes)
Instruction: Listen to these 3 recorded conversations. Learner-centered discussion of topic about which person agrees with the statements above, the man or the woman? (Audio 2.7 and Ex 2A).
Learners attempt to separate TL into Agree or Disagree (Giving Opinions PPT Slide 1 & 2) in OCFB. T comments on Meaning, Appropriacy (formal, neutral or informal), Form (chunks and patterns of the language) and Pronunciation of the functional exponents.
Intensive task: Breakout rooms (5 mins). Learners listen to the audio again, and complete 6 question quiz on missing words on a) giving opinion, b) agreeing, c) partially agreeing, and d) disagreeing. Working individually, and then in pairs to compare answers.
Breakout room for 2 mins. Learners create a sentence on 1 of the 3 topics in the text (Limiting violence in computer games / Downloading music for free / Having cosmetic surgery). T conducts OCFB, reviewing pronunciations.
Communicative task. Instruction: "Choose ONE of these topics. Tell your partner whether you agree or disagree. Use different language to the last discussion. You have 4 minutes." (Google slides with instructions, TL and suggested topics). Breakout rooms (4 mins). T conducts OCFB (4 mins).
T reviews 3 recurrent errors made in SS, as noted during the lesson.
