Main Aims
-
To provide practice of Words related to Sport in this class (football) dribble, practise, coach, team players, kick, hit, skill, train, score and play in the context of Sport
Subsidiary Aims
-
To provide fluency speaking practice in a To use the verbs that I have selected a little better in the context of Sport (Verbs)
Procedure (37-49 minutes)
Depend: If Anel and Vanesa do appear and they are the only two students. I will remind them that on Monday they told me that they both like football, and I will asked them if they follow any teams? (They possible going to say no!) It this happens I will ask what teams they have watched, or heard off.. etc.
I have created a Gist reading text which utilises some of the key vocabulary related to sport. The students will have to skim the text very quickly in order to give it a title. They will then discuss in pairs why they chose this title. Depending on the number of students in the class this could be done in the class or in the break out room . If no break out room: I will try to not intervene
Possible ask if they remember the words that were in bold anc write the words in the chat box
I have tried to create a separate word document which will hopefully help me to focus on each area individually. (Last class I used Jam boards and this I quite liked as it was not different documents.. but I need to practise using different tools so I have decided that this class I will use the google documents and see if Miguel thinks it worked better.... (Please comment Miguel)
I have created a google forms where I have made up some scrambled sentences with the help of an online resource http://www.altastic.com/scramblinator/
1. having created "scrambled sentences" I am going to ask the students to talk about whether they agree with the statements or not depening on the number of students and the time I could extend this ask them to think of some questions and then ask each other related to the key verbs we have used today. Dribble, kick, practising, Hit, Scored, Won, Warm-up
